Dartington Crystal has added Wimbledon trophies to its line of special commissions. The Torrington-based factory was, in fact, commissioned to make the platters for the winners of the first ever Quads Wheelchair Doubles final. The winning pair of this exhibition match were the UK’s David Wagner and Andy Lapthorne from the US.
The hand-engraved trophies crafted at the Torrington factory are the latest in a number of high profile sporting commissions for the North Devon brand.
Others recent commissions include special pieces for the F.A., American football, professional tennis, golf and rugby.
Dartington managing director Neil Hughes said: “It’s great for our brand profile and skilled employees to be associated and recognised with such high calibre events.”
