Chinese put themselves forward for the glass of Bormioli Rocco. A step forward for the Italian glassworks, now owned by the private equity firm Vision Capital, would in fact, the Chinese multinational Deliglass. Vision Capital has put for months the Bormioli for sale, giving an assignment to bank Rothschild. The initial request for Vision Capital for the sale of Bormioli would be between 500 and 600 million Euros. However, at present, according to rumors, potential buyers would have made offerings to a lower level, between 400 million and 500 million. Today the group is divided into two Bormioli glass divisions: pharmaceuticals, which is also the most profitable, and tableware. Two years ago Vision Capital sold the Bormioli food packaging division, having already divested its French perfumery activities and those collected in the US subsidiary. To buy the food packaging division was the Vetropack Holding, a multinational company based in Zurich and listed among the European leaders in the packaging industry. The price expectations are high especially for the sale of the pharmaceuticals business. Vision in 2011 bought Rocco Bormioli (with the participation of 94.5%) from Banco Popolare bond financing itself with a high yield by 250 million, and has implemented a progressive sale of parts of the company. Chinese companies are very active in the glass industry, and after potential European buyers left the scene, would now be in pole position for the acquisition of the Italian group.
